I cannot get my AOL account to add to my iPhone or iPad.

I cannot get my AOL account to add to my iPhone or iPad. When I enter my correct credentials it takes me right back to the screen where you select your mail service provider. When I select other and try to do it that way it also doesnt work when i use an app password generated by AOL OR when I try with my normal AOL password. Anyone else experience this and know how to get my AOL on my iPhone and iPad mail apps?

It sounds like you are doing the correct steps to add an email account to your iPhone. Just to confirm, when you try adding that email account using the automatic steps, you don't get any error messages of any kind? Are you trying to add that email account while you are on a cellular data connection or a Wi-Fi connection?


Let's try resetting the network settings on your iPhone and try adding the email account again. When resetting network settings, you will need to re-enter any saved Wi-Fi passwords on your iPhone, so be sure to have those handy before doing this step. When you are ready, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, then try adding the email account again:


Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Good Morning All,

Wanted to advise that I FINALLY was able to add my AOL email to the mail app on my iPhone. What I ended up having to do was to backup my iPhone, without the mail app, then I reset it to the factory settings. Before I restored the phone from the backup, just as a test, I tried to add the AOL email info to the mail app on the freshly restored factory settings and it worked. I then restored the phone from the backup, downloaded the mail app that I had deleted before the backup, entered the info and FINALLY it works. Thanks for the guidance, I was at my wits end.

thanks for the reply. I have reset the network settings and have tried to add the email account both on the WiFi after resetting and on cellular data and no change.


I do not get an error message it just pops me back to the welcome screen instead of going to what should be the agreement.


I have also tried to add it by manually mapping it and that has also not worked. AOL wasn’t helpful and told me to download their app which I hate.


it is doing the exact same thing on my iPhone and iPad. This is the screen I keep getting taken back to after adding my credentials no matter if I try adding through the mail app or through settings.
