I want to disable Speak-Auto-Text. I don’t want to hear what I am texting. All inquiries point to disabling Speak-Auto-Text in General - Accessibility. But Speak-Auto-Text is nowhere to be found there on the iPhone 8. Where is it?????

My voice control is off. Is it something else? Ok. When I text message, it anticipates and tells me out loud what I’m typing as I’m typing. I wish to disable it. I want to text - with autocorrect - IN SILENCE. And I can’t find ANYTHING so far that says Speak-Auto-Text in Settings. I can’t believe this is so difficult! 🤯
It is called Voiceover. It is where you looked.
Not Voice Control, VoiceOver. Go to Settings > Accessibility
I appreciate your help. Sincerely. Went to voice control. Compared the settings to my wife’s (it doesn’t happen to her), and mine were the same. I give up. Thank you again.
Once again what you are having problems with is VOICEOVER, not Voice Control. They are 2 separate things.
I wrote voice control in my previous reply by mistake. I did go to voice over.
And is it turned off? And did you restart your iPhone after turning it off?
Yes. The first selection under Voice Over which is voice over was off so I did not restart the phone. An iPhone mystery…..again, appreciate your help.
Where is Speak-Auto-Text on iPhone 8? It is NOT under General-Accessibility.
