I changed MacBook at the beginning of the year and I have been saving my files onto icloud on a specific work folder (not in documents or desktop but directly onto iCloud>WorkName) as I used to do on my previous MacBook. The new MacBook has broken down today (I spilled tea all over it! Ouch!) and it won't power up. So I reverted to the old MacBook but when I look on iCloud>WorkName from the old MacBook the files I have created since having the new Macbook are not there but the old ones are (even the ones I thought I had deleted!). It's like the iCloud has gone back in time to the what it was before the new MacBook. How is that possible and more importantly how do I get my files back? Could they be hidden? Could it be that the new MacBook created them with sharing restrictions so I cannot see them unless on that device?
I hope someone can help.
PS I don't have back up as I thought my files would be safe on the cloud, the recently deleted folder is empty and what I can see on my iPhone is the same that I can see on iCloud.com and the old MacBook ... so no joy there either
