Apple Watch trade-in

I just received my trade-in kit for my Apple Watch Series 6, but my series 7 won’t be here for a couple more weeks. I know I am supposed to send in my watch within two weeks but is that two weeks from receiving the trade-in kit or am I allowed to send it once I get my new device? Don’t really want to go a couple weeks without my watch.
