Trying to reinstall Mac OS X - "Select the disk to install it on" doesn't come up with any options.

I erased my disk to ship the computer for trade-in. I'm trying to reinstall Mac OS X - "Select the disk for install" doesn't come up with any options. I already went through disk utility and verified the disks. This is a MacBook Air - 2017.

Solved by restoring using the command/option/R keys, which brought up the newer version of the OS.

(using command/R brought up the really old Mavericks edition) With the newer OS, I had no problems with the install.
