Yes, that is the current version and the date relates to the release date. Apple have been working through the lineup replacing them all with Apple M1 chip versions/replacements and phasing out the Intel chips. The M1 chips have a significant performance advantage over the current Intel chips.
Now is not a good time to buy a 27" iMac, consider either the 24" M1 iMac or wait a few months until the new 27" has been announced & released.
At this time, that is the newest 27” Mac. As Apple has announced, and is already well into their transition to all Macs having Apple Silicon, they could release a new model tomorrow, or next week, or next month, …… but that is all a guessing game.

My old imac is from mid 2011 i cant update past MacOs High Sierra, so i'm in the market for a new imac but I would like the newest one. This one is already 2 years old if its from 2020.
