Where is the refund going to be credited if the payment method in question is already canceled?

When I realized that payments have been made by the card I used (without me actually knowing about it), I haven t only requested refund but also removed the card from my payment methods... My question now: will I get the refund to this card (or the underlying bank account) this way?

Even if this card is not an active payment method in my apple account?

Or should I re-instate this bankcard to my payment account?
