family storage

Why can't i use my partner's icloud storage. I have 50GB. She has 200GB. we thought we were connected via 'family share.' However, that does not seem to work that way. is this correct?

She would need to share her storage and you would need to switch to her plan as described in Share iCloud+ with your family - Apple Support
