I have my text messages set to keep forever but i have found that I only have text messages from only 3 years ago, It appears any texts I have (had) before that are gone
Storage availability is not an issue, i've had this phone almost 2 years but have had everything and backed up icloud for messages is turned on, but don't know what else to do
You likely erased the messages at some point. Maybe on a different device that synced your messages.
