Not receiving messages on iPhone XR

Beginning a few days ago, I've starting receiving messages with no context in group chats in the iMessage App. After a little confusion, I checked with others in the chats and they received earlier messages that were sent to them but not me. So far, I've only noticed this for group chats and not direct messages, but this may just be by chance. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
