Ringer and airplay volume

Hi there. Is it possible to differentiate the volume of the phone/ringer from what is being used for Airplay? I am currently listening to a programme and have the volume at 25% or so but the ringer is also at this same volume such that when I receive a text or email the notification is disturbingly loud. Can you turn the ringer down without losing the airplay volume?
