I am trying to get my new Surface Pro 8 to connect to my Thunderbolt display and it's not working. I have a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 adapter, but the Surface Pro is not detecting an external monitor. Anyone encounter this issue? Any fixes or help?
The Apple product page for their TB3/4>2 adoptar includes this statement:
"This adapter is not compatible with USB-C ports that don't support Thunderbolt 3, such as USB-C hubs or the USB-C port on MacBook models from 2015 or later."
Thus if your Surface Pro's USB-C port(s) do not support Thunderbolt 3 then I conclude it will not work
