How do I restore all of my data and pictures if my old iphone took a dump?

My iphone 7 has basically completely stopped working. It still turns on but will only charge up to 2% and if I try to do anything beyond basic it just dies. I was able to upgrade to icloud 50 GB storage so hopefully my data is there somewhere floating around. I'm planning on buying a new iphone. How can I get all of my pictures and data on my new iphone?

iPhone 7, iOS 15

Purchase phone, run setup, choose “Restore from iCloud backup, …

… sit back, watch and HOPE that you were indeed automatically backing-up to iCloud and Sync’ing to iCloud.
