Notifications from apps will not pop up on my iPhone's lock screen

My notifications from apps will not pop up on my Lock Screen. I can still see text notifications there, but that is all. I cannot see apps like Snapchat or Facebook.

Settings -> Notifications -> pick the app -> Under Alerts check that there is a check mark under "Lock Screen"
