I have OS maps on the phone but the icon is not replicated on the watch

The Apple Maps app is there, it might just be difficult to view if you have a lot of apps installed.
1 Option
On your Apple Watch, press the Digital Crown (the round button) to go to the Home Screen to view your Apps.
Press + hold on this screen and you can change from Grid view to List view (which places your Apps in alphabetical order).
2 Option
Press the Digital Crown to launch Siri and ask to "Open Maps"
