I’m trying to add a card to my daughters (14) wallet on her iPhone 12 and I keep getting a message. “ payment cards are not supported for this account.) any suggestions??

Make sure you have Apple Cash Family set up, the DOB of her Apple ID is correct, and if she already has an Apple Cash account prior to family setup, you will need to have an Apple Cash Specialist close that account in order to set up a new one with the Family Sharing. Once set up, she should be able to add a payment method to Wallet.
In Ireland these type of payment methods are accepted
If you still face the payment method adding issues you can also contact apple support they will help you with ease Official Apple Support
I expect that as the device is under family sharing you need to assign permission to add payment methods for your child's device.

Thank you but non of these highlight my specific issue. “ Cannot add card. Payment cards are not supported for this account.” I cannot find any information regarding which accounts are/are not supported.
Again, thanks for your time. However, none of these address my problem. I know that it’s supported. I know the card we are trying to add is compatible. According to Apple, she is old enough. It just keeps telling me that the “account” is not supported. This is the confusing part as I have no idea what “account”’it refers to.
