Update watch OS

My watch is 94% charged, on the charger still, phone 8” away with both wifi and Bluetooth enabled and Bluetooth connected to the watch. I’m trying to update it at 10am and it WILL NOT DO IT. The **** watch tells me it wil update later tonight as the watch and phone are being charged. I DON’T CHARGE EITHER AT NIGHT AS I TRACK SLEEPING. What the **** is up Apple!!!
