iMac SD card reader not working
I can read the card with a USB reader, but not with built in SD card reader on iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017). Monterey 12.4
iMac 27″ 5K, macOS 12.4

Didn't ask a question.
Can I find out more about the problem? I have tried this dozens of times over several months with different cards and it is consistent. When I remove the card from the iMac no error (meaning that it's not that the card isn't being displayed in the Finder)
Started working again after updating to 12.5 from 12.4. But the card did disappear from the Finder at some point. But has worked several times.
Yes fumbling for the slow is a pain (will me miss Ivy? Or was that someone else's really stupid idea?), but is easier than finding the reader on my not so neat desk.
I and others have had this issue with Monterey. For me once I updated the OS it started to work again and I only use Sandisk cards if that makes any difference.
Get and use an external USB card reader.
Personally I prefer using a card reader on a USB cable, instead of fumbling around looking for the slot on the back.
