I was setting up Chrome and the computer alert says the computer is locked and has been used illegally.
They say to call support 844-***-**50?
This cannot be real, right?
Should I continue?

It happened to my mother (76) and she called but didn't hear anyone on the line. Is there any reason for concern?
I erased the Chrome download and successfully reinstalled the browser later.

If she didn't talk to them or give them any information, I can't think of any reason to be concerned.
It's a scam. Don't call that number.
