My AirPods are locked in with my Apple ID but I lost that phone I’m now trying to connect the AirPods in my new phone and I can’t

Can you pair your AirPods to your phone if you have a generic case? My daughter has the newer AirPods. She lost her case and bought one off Amazon. It wasn’t apple. Now she can’t get it to pair with her phone. Is there anyway around this??

AirPods don't connect to Ipad I have a 3rd generation AirPods that I use with my Ipad for about a year. A couple of days ago, one of the pods didn't work, so by following directions from Apple Support I "forget the device" to reset them. However, now my Ipad doesn't even "find" them when I tried to reconnect. Same AirPods I have been using, now nothing. I have gone through the Apple Support articles, watched YouTube videos, charged them up, still again, the Ipad does not even show them come up in my Bluetooth screen. I looked into my Apple ID, because maybe they were still attached to my ID, nope, nothing there. Been working on this for about a week, I am stumped. Help! Thank you!
