Changing SIM card to a foreign carrier temporarily

I am traveling internationally and want to change SIM card to a foreign carrier. I want to have the capability while in the other country to be able to switch between the foreign carrier and my US carrier, Verizon. My iPhone 11 is unlocked. Will the switching cause problems to the phone's operation?

iPhone 11, iOS 15

You might seriously consider converting your current VZ nanoSIM to an eSIM. (Verizon supports “Quick Transfer”)

Then you could inset and leave the “overseas” nanoSIM untouched.

You can have both lines active or toggle them on/off individually thru your screen.
