When I share my photo library in iCloud I understand that the pictures are reduced in size, Are the originals still full size on my iMac 24?

That's a wonderful question! That is dependent on the settings you have selected in the Photos app on your Mac. To view these settings, open Photos and click Photos in the top menu where File, Edit, and View is shown, then click Settings (Preferences) in the menu. In the window that appears you'll want to click iCloud. If you see Download Original to this Mac, this would indicate that full resolution photos are being saved to your Mac.
