Much of an iPhone and iPad’s advanced functionality simply won’t work unless a Passcode has been initially set - such as TouchID/FaceID and Keychain stored passwords. However, while not recommended, you can disable the Screen Lock from iPad Settings:

Settings > Display & Brightness >

  • Lock-Unlock - set to OFF
  • Auto-Lock - set to Never

You can also completely disabled the Passcode from Settings should you choose to do so - but be aware that you will also disable many other functions:

Settings > TouchID | FaceID & Password > Turn Passcode Off
