That is the icon for Light Mode / Dark Mode. Tap on it and your iPhone will get into Dark Mode. Tap on it again and your iPhone will be in Light Mode.

thanks so much you’re absolutely right the other day and my phone was in dark mode and I had some thing that said dark mode, so I must’ve added it to the drop down, thanks and go eagles !
