hotspot symbol instead of wifi

I keep getting the hotspot symbol instead of WiFi when I connect to a secure one, on my 14 pro. The WiFi symbol works perfectly well with the 13. This issue cropped up a week back. Any ideas on why this may be?

Wi_Fi connections So what does this mean: New Wi-Fi network connections have been turned off from Control Center ? And how do you fix it so that "new" connections show up ? When I go to Settings and scroll down to Wi-Fi , beside Wi-Fi I see Not Connected, BUT when I tap on the right arrow and go into the Wi_Fi section, I SEE THE CONNECTION I WANT AND IT HAS A BLUE CHECK MARK BY IT, meaning I am connected to that network!! So why isn't THAT network showing as being connected on the PREVIOUS SCREEN ( SETTINGS) ? In the control center, wi-fi connection icon is BLUE , meaning wi-fi is on , same for blue tooth, BLUE and on. Airplane mode is OFF, WHITE, and beside it is an icon for IDK for sure but it's white in a green circle. ANY ideas as to why I'm not seeing a connection to my network even though I am connected to that network ?

MacBook not connecting to Hotspot: Wi Fi symbol shows exclamation Hello, I am having issues connecting my MacBook Pro to my hotspot via my iPhone 10. When I try to connect, it doesn’t even ask for my hotspots password and just gives me a Wi Fi symbol with an exclamation on it. At the time of attempt, my iPhone has 2 bars of cellular signal. Can someone explain why this is occurring? Thanks!

I have a personal WiFi network at home, which is also passport protected. Could you tell me what other details you need? This is what comes up for me..

It depends on what you are connecting to.

"when I connect to a secure one" This needs more explanation for a better answer.
