Hide My Email: emails not being forwarded

I have used hide my email to login to an app. Somehow I was able to log into a different app with the same hidden e-mail.


Long story short, I am not receiving emails from the app including a digital gift card purchase that I made recently and am unable to access or get a replacement due to this issue.


I can’t update the account with a new email address because I cannot receive any emails being forwarded to me. Is there any way to retrieve the emails that were sent to the @privaterelay.appleid.com address?


I have searched for possible solutions but have been unable to find an answer for this particular problem.

In the article What is Hide My Email? is the following:


"Apple doesn't read or process any of the content in the email messages that pass through Hide My Email, except to perform standard spam filtering that's required to maintain our status as a trusted email provider. All email messages are deleted from our relay servers after they're delivered to you, usually within seconds."


If you're not getting emails from a company they may be marked as spam. Check the spam or junk mailbox for your iCloud account to see if the messages delivered there. You may also send test messages to the address in question from another email address to confirm they are delivering as expected. If that is the case and the emails were flagged as spam, they may be permanently deleted.
