AirTag crashes FindMy app

AirTag crashes Find My app when I select it to view. Totally locks up the app. I’ve completely reset the AirTag, removed and reinstalled the FindMy App several times.

FindMy sees the AirTag as an ‘item’ and shows the correct location. But as soon as I tap the AirTag, the app freezes. I have to swipe the app to close it, it totally crashes.

I can select my iPhones and iPads, tap and view each one. View Devices and People with no problem. And return to the app with no problem.

When I select ‘Items’, it correctly shows my AirTag and it’s location.

I can back out of ‘Items’ and use the app as long I don’t select my AirTag.

But if I tap my AirTag, BOOM. Instantly locks up the FindMy app.

Any idea what causes this problem?

I found this issue too. Firstly, I reset all settings. It’s become normal. After I finished setup my iPhone, It’s crash again. After I try step by step to find what setting effect to app crash, I found that the maximum text size(without extra large in Accessibility) is a problem. I just reduce one step from maximum. It work again. I test to open Extra Large in Accessibility and step up text size. It’s work too.

I don’t know how you came up with this solution, I would never have thought making the text size bigger would help but it did . When I moved the slider back to normal size, Find my item froze again. Much appreciated !

Thank you! This is such a bizarre problem which was driving my wife mad! I don’t think we would have ever considered this. Amazing (and infuriating) that Apple haven’t sorted this bug in their multiple updates!
