Initial Login is Not Smooth on Refurbished M1 Pro

When the Mac is turned on and password is typed and pressed the login button screen blinks and background colour goes light and comes back to normal. This happens for like two times and comes to the desktop.

This doesn't happen when the screen is locked and re-login.

Used to be a Windows user all these years and using MacBook for the first time.

Feels a bit worried since it is a Refurbished M1 MacBook Pro.(10 Core CPU & 32GB Memory)

Is it Normal?

Hi sf_macm1,

Try testing the behavior in safe mode. This will start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks and prevents some software from automatically loading or opening, which could help narrow down the cause of the issue. This article will walk you through the steps: How to use safe mode on your Mac.

Apple silicon
1. Shut down your Mac.
2. Turn on your Mac and continue to press and hold the power button until you see the startup options window.
3. Select your startup disk, then press and hold the Shift key while clicking “Continue in Safe Mode.”
4. Log in to your Mac. You might be asked to log in again.

Intel processor
1. Turn on or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key as your Mac starts up.
2. Release the key when you see the login window, then log in to your Mac.
3. You might be asked to log in again. On either the first or second login window, you should see ”Safe Boot” in the upper-right corner of the window.

There are some additional steps to try in that resource, depending on what happens when you test in safe mode. If you need more help, you can get your Mac inspected at an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. If needed, this link will help with finding a store: Choose Your Country or Region. If you'd prefer, reach out to Apple Support directly so they can look into this with you further. They can be contacted here: Contact Apple Support or by calling the most applicable phone number from this list: Contact Apple for support and service.

Kind regards.
