How to update my iPad mini

I cannot update my iPad mini from a 12.5.6 to anything newer. My iPad states that it’s already updated and there aren’t any updates available. Without the update to 14 or more I cannot download any apps. Please help!

ipad mini 2g and 3g does not have hardware that support higher thant 12.5.6
