This has appeared on my desktop (the icon of the laptop in the top right of picture). I just got a new Mac and transferred all my things from my old mac to my new one. I have no idea what this thing means, and I just want to get it off my desktop because I like a clean desktop. Can somebody please explain to me what it is, why I cant get it off my desktop, and how to get it off my desktop??

That is the icon of your computer/hard drive/OS for easy access. If you don'twant it there, turn that off. I am not running the latest OS, on mine it is part of Finder Preferences (or Settings) - just uncheck the option to show hard disks on the desktop.

Finder > preferences ... (not to be confused with System preferences)

I have them all unchecked, and it is still there??
