I see you want to disable two-factor authentication. For some background I suggest you read the document: "Two-factor authentication for Apple ID" - Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support
Several years ago Apple transitioned to using two-factor authentication for additional account security. Accounts created since that time automatically use two-factor authentication and this cannot be disabled.
Some people have older accounts from before two-factor authentication was mandatory on new accounts. Apple encourages those users to transition to two-factor authentication when signing in on their accounts because without it "your account is less secure and you can't use features that require a higher level of security." Those older account owners who do start using two-factor authentication have two weeks to change their minds and return to older security settings.
If you have an older account, recently activated two factor authentication, and you're within the two week period for turning it off again, you should check for an email from Apple for a way to do this. If you don't see one about this, look in your junk mail folder.
You can investigate adding more ways to get a code such as multiple telephone numbers where you can receive a text or a phone call. This is from the section "About trusted phone numbers and trusted devices" in the article: Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support :
To see, add, or change your trusted phone numbers use one of these methods:
● On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Go to Settings > your name > Password & Security. Next to Trusted Phone Number, tap Edit.
● On a Mac computer choose Apple menu > System Settings (or System Preferences), then click your name (or Apple ID). Click Password & Security, then add or remove a trusted phone number.
● Using a web browser: Go to the Account Security section of https://appleid.apple.com .
If you set up an Account Recovery Contact ( Set up an account recovery contact - Apple Support ) you can also get a code that way.

Once you have actually started using two factor, you cannot cancel.
Now, if you have just signed up for two factor.....and have never used it.....you have 2 weeks from the start date to cancel. Details here:

If you already use two-factor authentication, you can no longer turn it off.
Certain features in the latest versions of iOS and macOS require this extra level of security, which is designed to protect your information.
If you recently updated your account, you can unenroll within two weeks of enrollment.
Just open your enrollment confirmation email and click the link to return to your previous security settings.
Keep in mind, this makes your account less secure and means that you can't use features that require higher security.
This is so frustrating! I'm asked to authenticate on my desktop, and the number comes to my desktop! How is that security? I resent not having choices about this.
