Hi A_Gray313,
Welcome to the Apple (user-to-user) Community.
Re: "Trouble connecting IPods"
We don't have much information about your ear IPods / or situation / in order to help.
As Apple's AirPods seem to be designed to work mainly with Apple products, third-party (non-Apple) products may not always be compatible.
Re: Why can’t I connect my ear IPods
Wondering whether they have the necessary power (ie charged ok),
and
if they can be placed in discovery mode, ready to connect (some brands "blink"):
and
whether they've been connected ok before, or this is the first time trying to connect.
If earPods are charged, and in discovery mode :
If you haven't already, you might want to try wearing your earPods,
and
on iPhone: Try Settings > Bluetooth > tap "Not Connected"
