Follow up email error

I turned off follow up emails in the settings as soon as they started appearing because I don’t like or want them. The follow up’s keep coming despite the setting being turned off. How do I stop follow up emails? Please help me make them stop.

Well, I thought it worked but it didn’t. The follow up emails are still showing up. My iPhone and iPad now both have the feature turned off but follow ups keep coming in my inbox. Any other fixes to try??

Hi Portia1008,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you may be referring to the 'Enable message follow up suggestions' feature mentioned in Reply to and forward emails in Mail on iPhone - Apple Support. Right? If so, make sure that you have taken the steps below to disable that.

Follow up on emails
If you send a message and don’t receive a response for several days, the email automatically moves back to the top of your inbox to help you remember to follow up.
Go to Settings > Mail, then turn Follow Up Suggestions on or off.

If the same continues after that, do you have any other devices that you use for the impacted accounts. Perhaps the settings are different across your devices. For iOS devices, use the same steps above. For Mac, follow the guidance in Reply to, forward, or follow up on emails in Mail on Mac - Apple Support.

All the best.
