My iMac (Intel processor) did an overnight update and now I can’t login anymore. I tried the safe booth and it still doesn’t log in. I tried in recovery mode to run the aid and to reinstall Ventura but I’m still stuck. The computer loads the login screen, I enter the pw and then it just keeps spinning.

Are you set up to be able to try logging in from another machine, e.g. with ssh ? If it's possible to try this it would perhaps see if the problem is with the user/password or with the login gui.
No, I’m not set up to log in from another machine.
Also, I tried to change the pw in recovery mode and I was able to do it. So I don’t think it’s a pw issue. The system recognizes if I put a wrong pw but when I put the correct one, it just spins and doesn’t boot.
