Sharing an external SSD as a Time Machine destination

I have a SanDisk Pro G-40 connected to my MacminiM2Pro running macOS Ventura. I am unable to share the SSD as a Time Machine destination for other Macs on the network and simultaneously use it as a Time Machine destination for my Mac unless I create two volumes. I was hoping that I would be able to have one volume with all the backups in the same format so that the backup SSD could easily be moved to any Mac on the network without reconfiguration.

Any ideas?

Mac mini, macOS 13.3

It's too bad Apple did not do a better job designing shared Time Machine folders, but I do really appreciate your direct and clear answer to my question. And just so you know, a "senior" Apple support person I spoke to was completely unaware of the existence of shared Time Machine folders.

I also have a question about deleting Time Machine backups that I will post shortly,

Thanks very much,

David Goldsmith
