my daughter just got an Apple Watch SE. It locks every few seconds even while she's typing on it. The battery doesn't even last the school day. How do I turn off this passcode lock?

Does your daughter have tattoos where the watch sits? Is the watch strapped to her wrist tight enough (not loose)? You truly don't want to turn off the requirement for a passcode as if someone takes her watch, they'll be able to access her data, which is not safe.
No tattoos. I'll turn the passcode back on because it did not help with the battery life. I just purchased it and it said 18 hours of battery life. When she gets home from school it is at 3% and it is turned to school setting all day (she can't be caught using her watch all through the school day). Do you think this is a hardware issue?
I doubt it's a hardware issue. But it's likely working very hard all day in a school, which often has blockers to cellular connectivity to connect to a network, which would eat up the battery quickly. If at home on her wrist over the weekend, there is normal battery life, it will tell you there is nothing wrong with the watch.
Correct. I figured out how to turn off the passcode however the battery still runs down. I am going to test it by monitoring the battery life on a weekend to see if it is the school cell blocking that is causing it to run down. Wouldn't all the kids have the same issue though? I don't want to make her turn it off during the school day, that kinda defeats the purpose. Thanks.
Interesting she is typing on an SE Watch which does not have a keyboard.
I would work through some of these if she has her own iPhone
