It appears the last 17-in display model is a late 2011 model, which can run 10.13 as the latest MacOS available for that model.

Apple does not send you messages to contact support, ever. You appear to be being contacted by criminals on the Internet who hope to steal your money or take over your computer, or both.

NEVER respond to solicitations. Assume you are being contacted by immoral criminals pretending to be someone else.

Never provide ANY personally-identifiable information at all ever unless YOU initiated the contact. Your account has NOT been hacked, (regardless of what a caller or emailer is telling you) and you do NOT need to "confirm" your account numbers unless YOU initiated the contact.

ALWAYS initiate contact YOURSELF by finding reliable contact information you look up yourself.

<< Is this how Apple is going to finally kill my Mac? >>

Your Mac can still do everything it could do the day you first took int out of the box, and a whole lot more because of free upgrades Apple provided over the years.

Apple has not taken anything away.

if that computer is not meeting your needs, it is your expectations that have grown, not the capabilities of your computer shrinking.
