Can I play music from my iPod through my new car 's stereo?
My new car doesn't seem to want to connect to my iPod with all my music. It has worked on previous car stereos but won't show up on this latest system.

What type of iPod do you have?
If it is an iPod Touch, you might be able to connect it to a CarPlay-equipped car.

I believe that every iPod has a headphone jack. Your car stereo might have a 3.5mm audio input port. If not, there are third-party devices that will plug into a headphone jack such as

Yes it does have a USB connection but the car has no way of recognising the iPod. We are able to connect an iPhone using USB and CarPlay, but not the iPod. Sad!
Does it have a USB connection? If so, try that, using the iPod's dock connector cable. It's a long time since I've used a Classic, but the audio is sent via the Dock Connector so the car should see that.
On some cars, the USB port is hidden in the glove box, on others, it's more obvious.
Thanks for your prompt reply. We think its a 160GB iPod Classic.
Have tried the audio input port without success, will look into third party devices.
Many thanks.
If you're using a wired port on the car, don't forget to switch the car's audio system to that input and also, turn up the volume on the iPod.
That seems to be the problem, the car does not offer an "aux" input.
Looks like we are going to have to use an iPhone through Apple CarPlay.
Thank you for taking the time to answer.
