Sharing files from a MacBook to a Mac

I want to know if when loading the files to the new Mac, does it leave the files on the MacBook ?

or are they transferred completely?

iMac 27″, macOS 13.4

I believe that Migration Assistant leaves your old files intact.

"Migration Assistant copies but does not delete files from your old Mac.'
