Vat refund in UAE

Good day and afternoon,

I purchased an iPhone 14 Pro Max from Apple Care in Dubai Mall last month. I am an Indian expat who is currently touring the UAE. I asked the salesman for the request statement for my paid tax refund prior to the billing procedure. But I received a negative response from the salesperson: "Sorry. The tax refund request statement is not provided by Apple Care in the UAE."

Is that right? I'm concerned about the UAE's tax refund policy for Apple items. Please clarify.

A store may have to participate in a special program such as Global Blue. See this web site for Global Blue services in different countries: https://www.globalblue.com/tax-free-shopping/how-to-shop-tax-free

VAT refunds are up to each country and also the various stores if they wish to participate. Some countries offer them and some do not. In some places the refunds are conducted at the airport upon departure.
