I forgot my iPhone Xs in a hotel. I have called the hotel and they are claiming that they can't find the phone. How can I lock my phone so that it can't be used?

How can I lock my phone? When I left it, it had Find My iPhone turned on. When I searched for it with my iPad it shows that feature turned off. So I know someone has it. I suspended the service, but I want my phone located. I want to lock it so that it cannot be used until it is returned to me.

iPhone XS, iOS 16

Sorry, but if Find My was turned off, you will not be able to locate and access the phone to lock it. In other words, to enable Find My, you have to have the phone in your hands.

That brings up the question though, since a passcode would be required to access the settings on your phone.....no one who found the phone would be able to guess the correct passcode and access the settings on the phone to turn Find My off.

Are you saying that your phone was not passcode protected?
