iPhone trade-in

I’m going to be buying the iPhone 15 when its released. I’m going to trade in my current phone. It seems to me that it fits the description of one that can be traded in, but if it doesn’t will they send the phone back or keep it for “recycling”?

iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 17

If they won't pay you the estimated trade value that you will be given when you arrange the trade, you will have the option to have it returned to you.

See the following from Apple Trade In - Apple

Why did I receive a revised trade-in value offer?

If the condition of your device is different from what you described, we’ll provide a revised value.

If the revised value is lower than the initial estimate, you can either accept or reject it. If you accept it, we’ll continue with the trade-in and either charge or credit the difference in value to the card you provided. If you reject it, we’ll cancel the trade-in, return your old device, and charge the original trade-in value to your card.

If the revised value increases, we’ll automatically increase your trade-in credit.

I bought a new iPhone with the trade-in plan. Three days passed by and the “Trade-in kit” hasn’t arrived, and it was because they received a phone from another customer and where “analyzing it” as mine. Error 1

So I called them, they fixed the problem and sent a new kit to me. Error 2: trust them after that gigantic error

So, I sent my phone. I video recorded my “old” iPhone 12 pro max before sending it and then received a notice that apple would pay $0 for it. When I called Apple to get information about it, they said the battery didn’t work, when it performed perfectly with 86% of health battery when I sent it, and as I “accepted” the trade in, they probably already recycled the parts and would have used the functional ones.

I asked them to give it back, in the same conditions it was sent, and they said they didn’t promise anything and that my claim would be attended in up-to 3 days.

Who would imagine Apple can make this kind of errors? And I am 100% sure they didn’t even analyze my phone.

you can see them side to side, perfectly working but Apple recycled it for me 🤡 cause it battery didn’t work.
