what's new in home in iPad

The above screen opens as a pop up every time I open the Home app. Also appears when changing cameras or doing much of anything. Cannot find away to close this. Seeing it once after updating is plenty. Don’t need to have it constantly appear.

ideas?

I have the same problem since 17.1.1 and I updated to 17.1.2 today on iPhone 14 Pro and "What's New in Home" message keeps appearing in the Home application, everytime I launch the application. Really annoying to be honest. A similar message appeared in Music but only once as it should be.

Annoying as **** on iPhone 12. Does not happen on my wife's iPhone, any of our MacBooks, iPads, just on my phone. I do not have Homebridge, Controller works flawlessly, as all our 87 Homekit devices. Rebooted, force closed, disabled any and all notifications to no avail. This "What's New in Home" splash screen keep splashing me every time I open the Home app, regardless if I force close it or simply close it and reopen it.

Anyone has any solution without deleting the home? Apple? Please? (and thank you!)

I now have a solution for this and NO THANKS to Apple. As I was having this problem primarily through ios, I tried to connect to Apple away from home and therefore NOT through the local network but through my mobile provider. This resolved the problem and since I connected to Apple Home from away, this resolved the issue. I did this before upgrading to 17.2 so the solution is not related to 17.2 upgrade.

Best wishes.

SOLVED!!!!

The issue was the Home widget on the home screen. For some reason, the widget must of stuck in a "just after update" mode with the "What's New in Home" always pupping up when (re)opening the actual Home App. All I had to do is remove the widget and add it again.

Thank you Apple (not) for investigating this f°°king annoying BUG and letting us know the simple solution.

Did you remove ALL the Home widgets from every screen including home screen, locked screen, right-swipe screen, etc. or anywhere added? Perhaps just a simple HomeKit device icon added to some screen?

Not sure of your setup, but on iPhone 12 Plus one 8 icon widget on home screen and a different 8 icon widget on the screen when I "right swipe" from the home screen.

Once I removed both widgets, then closed the Home app and reopened it, the message disappeared. Then I added the widgets back and the message did not come back. I even tried a reboot to make sure it is gone forever.

Me too.

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 17.1.2. Tried restarting app and then phone. Still there.

Deleted and reinstalled home app. Still there.

FWiW.. I have Meross, Schlage and Apple TV devices in the Home app and in settings I have RainMachine, Schlage Home and Sensi accessing HomeKit.

Other members of the household see all of the devices, do not have the added apps installed and do not display the annoying splash screen.
