apple books only showing library and search bar

i’ve been using it to read for the past 2 years and never had this happen to me until a week ago. but the rest of the options came back after i restarted the app. yesterday it happened again and no matter what i did it won’t show me any other options. i’ve even updated my softer, cleaned icloud storage and everything yet it still won’t give me the basic apple books options i had
