CarPlay query for newbie

Hi all. New here. UK based. Beginning the transition from Google/2xPixel to Apple/2xiPhone13. So all a bit new.

Very used to wired Android Auto (dedicated USB A AA/CP socket) in our Volvo XC40.

Can I assume that Apple's own USB A to Lightning cable will support CP in the car?

Tidiness is important to me. Has anyone used a shorter neater cable for USB A to Lightning to run CarPlay?

Any tips much appreciated.
