You cannot revert back.

if you wish to return to the main screen with all the Apps, long press on the back button. On other remotes this might be the menu button. Either way it should be the top left one.

Did the instructions I provided not get you back to the main App screen? I just tested in the Apple tv app and it does work by pressing and holding the back button (or menu button on other remotes)

if you can’t read the side menu, you can try an Accessibility setting. I use this on my small bedroom tv. In settings- Accessibility- Hover Text - click to turn it ON. As you move over the menu, each tab is shown in large text at the top of the screen. It works within other apps as well.

I also have that issue and it's difficult to go back to get to the main app page and out of apple tv. Its' also way too small to read the side bar menu if you are actually watching apple tv on a real tv - you can't read the side bar menu

Not interested in the Hoover feature. I could see it fine before in the top menu tabs and it’s inconvenient and extra steps. The side menu also cuts off the picture - I’m not sure why they changed something that worked just fine.
