I've recently started a new job with an organisation that has a BYOD policy for phones. In order for me to access company email etc. on my iPhone I need to install Microsoft InTune.
Is this likely to impact on the performance of my iPhone 12?
Also can I easily get rid of the software, and the sandbox area it creates, if I find there is a problem?

If this is a true BYOD enrollment, you will likely see no performance hit, notice next to no change in device behavior, and be able to leave enrollment at any time (with the side-effect that you will no longer be able to receive email or participate in corporate data).

BYOD management is intentionally limited to a small subset of the MDM framework. Apple is very cognizant of the privacy of your personal device. BYOD is not permitted to touch personal content. It can only control enterprise delivered setting and apps.
So, no performance hit, and you can leave anytime you want. Only Supervised enrollments (institutionally owned hardware) can have the MDM enrollment profile locked to the device.

I installed the Intune(for Amex)on my iPhone 15 and it completely killed the phone.
the phone got hanged and it was not even letting me restart it. I visited the Apple Store and they said that they have to reset the phone.
