PracticeOut 1.0

Hello all!

First time user on here and a little tech illiterate so please excuse my terminologies and explanations. I’ll try my best!

I have recently noticed slow down on my MacBook Air (2018 ish) and other issues including airdrop. I’ve attempted to clean it by deleting various files that are no longer required. I eventually started to look into the launchpad when I noticed an ‘app’ named PracticeOut which is a white magnifying glass within a circular teal icon. When I double clicked on this, another page was opened which was extensions, within that was the detail of PracticeOut which shows the permissions it has. This stated that it can read sensitive information, passwords, credit cards etc and can see when I visited web pages.

my issue is that I cannot specifically remember ever installing this app and reading what the permissions are concerns me somewhat.

has anyone in the community ever seen this app or know if it’s malicious or if the concern is unfounded?

I would really appreciate some direction or advice on this please.

thanks,

Ham.
