I have been having issues with HomeKit using up a lot of data and I don’t have any devices whatsoever in my home. I’ve tried turning off HomeKit in iCloud and it doesn’t seem to help. I have gone to the Apple Store and they try to tell me will just happen, there is nothing I can do.

You can turn off its Data by following these steps:
From your iPhone, open Settings, click on cellular, scroll to Home, toggle it OFF
That should fix it 😉
