How do I exclude family members from the home and away status?

We are four in our family and our home has a security camera by the front door. When we got it I set it to record video when everyone was away from home, except for my youngest son, that don't use his phone at school.

I recently realized that my security camera doesn't ever record anything anymore, since his iPhone is at home all the time, and the setting now state that either record when "Nobody is home" or "When I'm not home". I can't pick family members anymore, like I could before. Rendering the entire security camera useless.

My only option is to always record video all the time, which seems stupid.

Why is this? Anyone got a solution for me?

I could probably cut the power to the camera, using a HomeKit circuit breaker and set an automation to only turn the camera on when 3 of 4 family members are away, setting the camera to record all the time... That seems not only stupid but totally crazy if I had to do that to control my HomeKit kamera just to exclude the iPhone in question.

Before anyone suggest this, I don't want to remove my sons iPhone from the Home, since he need to be able to access everything we share, including Apple One subscriptions and apps.
